ABOUT ANDREA STONE
I’m a former global marketing leader turned Executive Coach and Educator, now working with leaders and their teams in global, dynamic, tech-driven organizations to support emotionally intelligent leadership.
‘I wish I’d known this earlier’
This is one of the comments I hear most frequently from clients.
There are many things I wish I’d known earlier in my career too – that’s one of my main motivators for coaching and supporting leaders in their growth.
I work with leaders because leadership:
- Is a crucial role and a critical skill – and the demands on leaders are constantly changing.
- Can be tough and it can be lonely – and because at some stage in their careers, all leaders can benefit from professional support.
- Is constantly evolving and my Executive Coaching and Leadership Growth Programmes make a positive difference to leaders’ performance, satisfaction and success.
My Experience
I’m a former global Marketing Leader, turned Executive Coach and Educator.
For over two decades in global tech-driven companies I introduced new products, marketed corporations and led teams across multiple geographies in both developed and emerging economies, winning over 30 prestigious marketing awards in the process.
Companies I worked with include PCCW in Hong Kong, the Bharti group in India, and Cable & Wireless in Japan, Germany and the UK.
As a marketing leader, I led teams in start-up scenarios, rapidly growing SMEs and large multinationals – and collaborated with teams and partners on all continents.
Now, I support current and future CXOs to accelerate their leadership success.
For over a decade I’ve impacted thousands of executives and their teams to strengthen their leadership capabilities and achieve greater success
I’ve supported them as they take on expanded roles, more challenging projects, address limiting mindsets and behaviours – and create desired change.
In the process, they’ve boosted their confidence and capacity to generate strategies for success.
My Qualifications
Executive Coaching
I’m a Professional Certified Coach from the International Coach Federation and a Senior Practitioner with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. I’m also a certified Team Coach from David Clutterbuck’s GTCI Team Coach programme.
I constantly refresh my coaching skills, and have learnt from pioneering and deeply transformative coaches, including Peter J. Reading, Nithya Shanti, Leon VanderPol and Joshua Freedman.
Emotional Intelligence
You’ve probably noticed that it’s not always the smartest people in the room who are the most effective or successful.
That’s where exercising emotional intelligence creates impact – the combining of cognitive and emotional skills – blending a task and process focus, with people skills.
Daniel Goleman, author of ‘Emotional Intelligence, Why It Can Matter More Than IQ’, found that close to 90% of the differentiators between star and average performers at senior management levels were emotional intelligence skills.
My work incorporates emotional intelligence research, frameworks and techniques.
I’m the Preferred Partner of Six Seconds in India. Six Seconds are global leaders in EQ, having constantly innovated in research, models and assessment tools, for over 25 years. I’m certified in their individual leadership tools, including Brain Profiling, Emotionally Intelligent Leadership, Leadership Vital Signs and Team Vital Signs, as well as being as an EQ Coach and EQ Master Trainer.
Psychometric and Behavioural Certifications
I’ve gained certifications in a diverse range of psychometric assessments, including Hogan, OPQ, FIRO-B, and Extended DISC, as well as emotional intelligence assessments from Six Seconds, the leading global provider in research and assessments in emotional intelligence. These include EQ assessments for individual leaders and for teams, and assessments around brain talents and styles. I’m also certified in EQi 2.0, a further leading emotional intelligence assessment for corporate leaders.
I hold the Belbin Team Roles certification, the pre-eminent tool for identifying how to support teams work more effectively together and enhance performance.
In terms of academic qualifications, I hold a BA in European Studies and Modern Languages from the University of Bath, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Japanese from SOAS at the University of London, and an MA from Cranfield School of Management.

A Little Bit More About Me
I grew up in a smallish town in the North of England and was always fascinated by the wider world.
I knew from a young age that I wanted to live and work in different countries on different continents. I was both captivated and intrigued by diverse cultures and languages – and so I studied languages at university and took every opportunity I could to work in new countries.
Impactful early experiences included a year before university as an Au-Pair in Germany – and post graduation, selling books door-to-door during a scorchingly hot summer in Utah.
From these adventures, I learnt independence, resilience and the importance of creating positive human connection, thanks to the many inspiring, generous and fun-loving people I met.
I’ve worked outside my native UK for more than thirty years in my career – in France, Germany, Hong Kong, India and Japan – frequently in pan-regional roles across Europe and Asia, as well as with teams across Africa and in the Americas.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy sports and the arts, having captained netball teams, gained personal trainer qualifications, and performed in amateur musicals.
Like all undertakings, I’m on a learning journey – evidenced by the fact that my younger son leaves the room when I start to sing.
I’m currently based in Delhi with my entrepreneur husband – our two teenage boys having recently headed to the UK for further studies.
